Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC) announces estimated flowering and full bloom dates for Somei Yoshino trees at approximately 1,000 cherry blossom viewing locations across Japan from Hokkaido to Kagoshima.

The anticipated flowering and full bloom information is typically released in March and April, with details for Hokkaido accessible in May.

• What is "Sakura Navi?"
  Sakura Navi is an application providing forecasts for cherry blossoms' flowering and full bloom dates, along with a Flowering Meter tracking their progress nationwide. The app offers features to enhance cherry blossom appreciation, including Proximity Notification for Cherry Blossom SPOT to alert users near cherry blossom sites and a Stamp Card to log visited locations. • What is "MY SPOT?"
  MY SPOT allows you to save up to 30 favorite Cherry Blossom SPOTS.
• Cherry Blossom Flowering Forecast Map
  This map highlights Cherry Blossom SPOTS throughout Japan, using pin colors to represent the cherry blossoms' growth progress. Users can access route guidance by selecting the "Route to this Sakura Spot" button. If accessed outside Japan, the map will automatically switch to Tokyo.
• Details Screen
  Here, users can view forecasted flowering and full bloom dates for each location, as well as the Flowering Meter status. Locations can be added to MY SPOT or marked with a "Visited Stamp," which can only be applied when in close proximity to the site.
• MY SPOT (Cherry Blossom Calendar)
  This calendar tracks the Hanami season (March to May), marking forecasted flowering and full bloom dates for registered SPOTS.
• Stamp Card
  Users can review locations where they have placed the Previously Visited Stamp.
• Proximity Notification for a Cherry Blossom SPOT
  Receive notifications when near a Cherry Blossom SPOT (provided that notification and location services are enabled on the device). Notifications are subject to location data accuracy and coverage.
• Settings
  Customize proximity notification preferences for Cherry Blossom SPOTS.

The development of cherry blossoms progresses from bud formation in the previous summer to flowering stages after dormancy, awakening, and growth. Buds undergo dormancy post-summer formation before growth initiation in early spring with rising temperatures.
